Toronto Outdoor Art Fair’s Awards Program is unprecedented and unique in North America. The vision behind our awards is to create opportunities for artists to advance their careers, provide public recognition and make a significant financial contribution to their practices.

Celebrate extraordinary artists of the Fair, supported by our committed circle of donors who have generously contributed over $40,000 worth of cash and in-kind awards.

Mayor’s Purchase Award

Value of artwork by the City of Toronto. This award brings the artists' artwork into the City of Toronto’s significant art collection.

Best of Student Award

$1,000 Marie Collins Memorial Award

Artscape Award: A residency at Artscape Gibraltar Point and solo exhibition at Artscape Youngplace (Value $2,500)

This award grants the recipient a self-directed artist residency at Artscape Gibraltar Point. Since opening in 1999, Artscape Gibraltar Point’s secluded retreat centre, artist lodge and long term artists work studios (surrounded by 46 acres of park land and its own beachfront) has provided thousands of local and international artists-in-residence an idyllic place to focus on their practice. The artist also will receive a week-long solo exhibition at Artscape Youngplace, a dynamic community cultural hub operated by Artscape, in the midst of the Toronto West Queen West neighbourhood. Through this exhibition, the artist can showcase their work to a broader audience adding an incredible achievement to their curriculum vitae.

Emerging Artists by Emerging Curator Award

An exhibition opportunity at Propeller Gallery (Value $4,000)

Gladstone House Award

The recipient will have the opportunity to showcase their artworks at Gladstone House for one-year with a $1,000 artist fee.

Artscape Emerging Artist Award 

The Artscape Emerging Artist Award grants a one-year membership to Artscape Daniels Launchpad, which is a first-of-its-kind creative entrepreneurship hub, designed to help emerging and established artists, designers and creators from all disciplines grow thriving careers. The one-year membership includes access to all five of our creative studios for production and experimentation, and those include textiles and fashion, fine metals and jewellery, digital fabrication, electronics and woodworking. Launchpad also offers members the chance to be a part of a vibrant and diverse community of creators, as well as engage in learning and way-finding opportunities so that you can access the resources and the business opportunities you need to thrive in your practice (Value $1,360).
