We hope to see you this morning in our final Art Collectors in Conversation series that will tap into many layers of art collecting, the traditional and the technological. You can still register here.
If you have time, we recommend listening to Thursday’s talk, Glimpsing the Future, Vol. 3, with thought-provoking artist Mitchell F. Chan. In this talk, Mitchell describes the concepts of immaterial exchanges of artworks on blockchain technology in the clearest and most eloquent way. It’s one of the most insightful entries into demystifying NFTs and everything in between.
TOAF is all about direct connection between the viewer, the artists, and the irreplaceable magic of seeing art in-person. However, artists are always layering their ways of exchanging art on varied platforms, and it is instinctive to follow their adventures with the advancements in technology.
Today’s Curated Collections are on theme! Artist Alex McLeod, known for his 3D rendered environments, brings us a stimulating collection in Art that I Want to Live with Forever (Alex wins the best collection title!). Curator Henry Heng Lu has also put together a great mix in Codes, Patterns, and the Unspoken.
We are nearing the end of the Fair. Traditionally, TOAF would take place every second weekend in July, rain or shine! This year's 10-day outdoor art fair has mostly been rainy, which was definitely not what we had asked of mother nature. This weekend is our final rotating showcase of artists at stackt market. It is going to be a great weekend, so we hope you spend some time with us. Please continue your explorations of new works and discovering new artists at TOAF.ca.
