Vertigo is the conflict between the fear of falling and the desire to fall - Salman Rushdie


Stunt performer Anita Nittoly uses stairs as both her stage and her nemesis in this movement installation.  Nittoly shines and stumbles as she personifies the concept of falling from grace, while actually falling (gracefully and otherwise).

In this performance, Goodwin is particularly interested in the in-between, the mistakes, the accidents, and the beauty and tragedy of day to day life.

About the Artist

Jenn Goodwin is a Toronto based dance artist. Her dance work has been performed across Canada, and in New York, Amsterdam, Australia and Brussels. Her short dance films have been screened at festivals across Canada, in New York and Europe. Her work often explores little moments that make up a big life. The beauty, banality and barbarity of the in between. She often utilizes narrative, stories and text from the every day conversation to the poetic. She works with the body, humor, video, visual art, song, popular and less popular culture as inspiration. She has presented work in theatres as well as venues such as clubs, art galleries, bars, parks, trees, living rooms, streets. Goodwin is one half of the band MORTIFIED with Camilla Singh and is a programmer/artistic producer with Toronto Special Events/Scotiabank Nuit Blanche.
