V Vallières
I am a Toronto-based multi-media artist who works primarily in ceramics and textiles. I like to work with colour, texture, and form to create fantastical creatures and non-normative figures that are playful and explore deeper themes such as queerness, neurodivergence, comfort, memory, and coping/defense mechanisms. I hold a BFA in Studio Arts from Concordia University and have attended multiple residencies across Canada. My work has been funded through various grants, including the Ontario Arts Council, and has been acquired as a part of the permanent collection at Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). I'm a ceramic technician at a community night school and an active member of community ceramics studios. I identify as non-binary, queer and neurodivergent.
