Temitayo Oketola is a Nigerian-born visual artist based in Toronto, Canada. Working primarily with oil paint, he explores solitude and reflection through carefully composed night scenes illuminated by small, intentional sources of light.

With a background in engineering and a natural inclination toward problem solving, he approaches painting as a way of observing and understanding the world; studying places and moments to reveal what often goes unnoticed.

His work is shaped by memory, environment, personal experience, and story. Oketola’s paintings capture the warmth of lamps, windows, and fading sunsets; subtle glows that emerge from darkness, revealing the rich beauty that exists within it.

These moments invite viewers into a space of reflection, where they can pause and find their own meaning within the scene.
