Mykah Czarina Dela Cruz
Born in Tarlac, Philippines, Mykah immigrated to Canada at the age of 9, where creating became a way of navigating emotions and thoughts. Her practice was a reliable & safe form of expression when words failed as an option in an ever shifting world.
This navigation led into the colourful and impassioned work that she has now earned a reputation for. Diverse palettes, textures and techniques, bring forth spirited layers and unanticipated moments. Each piece emerges unique, while still being akin to her voice, which has been lent to publications, restaurants, musicians, agencies, local community initiatives and more.
While mental health and creating ran parallel in her life, she grew to understand the power of art as a means of communication. Looking forward to the future, Mykah is keen on expressing ideas and points of view that will help encourage community, healing and mindfulness.
