Maureen Paxton
Maureen Paxton lives in Hamilton, Ontario. As a drawer, painter and printmaker, she has shown in many different types of exhibition venues: commercial, public and artist-run, in both solo and group shows. She's also instructed at Sheridan College and OCADU, generally teaching painting/drawing, with an emphasis on the human form. That emphasis is present in her visual work as well though if not actual bodies, then references to or ciphers for. That is, skeletons or decorative objects or bric-a-brac or anything that suggests our is or was or will be. There are also environments, or (theatrical) stages.
The work in this exhibition is a combination of etching, drypoint and lithography, as well as mixed media work and drawings.
