Marianne Sung
Marianne is an emerging and self-taught Korean-Canadian artist. Radiating warmth and light, her art is intended to spark feelings of magic while inspiring nostalgia. Her varied colours, shades, and marks emerge through her application of thin and transparent layers of acrylics. She is primarily influenced by her deep connections to the places and things in her current home of Ontario, her upbringing in Québec and world travels.
Her landscapes express themes of identity, belonging, interconnectedness and our need for community as a means for sustainability. Just as trees and flora thrive through mutual support and communication, her works underscore the symbiotic relationship between humans and the environment. This emphasis on ecological preservation is particularly poignant in the context of climate change.
In 2025, her artwork was selected for the Art with Heart charity auction for Casey House. She is represented by Art Interiors gallery and online by Ninth Editions.
