Lulu Galway is a Canadian landscape painter. She is captivated by dappled light filtering through the trees, the dark tangled depths of a garden. Her paintings depict intimate spaces which invite self reflection. An uneasy crossing over a brook, a barrier of tangled branches, moments which test our own capacity to overcome obstacles, both metaphorical and real.

She is primarily a studio painter; although photography, plein air painting and sketches provide fodder for the work. She is always looking for connection with the natural world, in daily walkabouts as well as far flung travels. Obsessed with trees, her house is full of scavenged roots and branches, as well as an absurd number of plants.

She is a graduate of Emily Carr University where she studied painting, printmaking and ceramics. Her work has been exhibited in group shows in Montreal, Toronto and New York and can be found in private collections in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
