Carola Sanchez
Caro Sanchez is a self-taught jeweller who comes from a little town enclave in a valley surrounded by mountains of the Chilean Andes.
Living in Canada for the past 17 years, she has found in Toronto the ideal place to inspire herself as a jewelry maker.
Having grown up in a vibrant community of artisans back in her hometown, where wood engravers, stone sculptors, weavers and metal smith are the soul of the city, it was natural for her to fall in love with these arts.
Caro Sanchez has worked as an artisan all her life, making clothes and accessories mixing different fabrics, materials and colours which made her curious about applying these techniques to metals and stones, It was then when she discovered her passion for jewelry making and design.
By trying different approaches and combinations she found herself experimenting with wire wrapping, hammering and soldering, in this way Caro Sanchez has created a unique style that focus in the beauty of simplicity, elegance and delicacy of her hand made pieces.
Still in the search of improving her own technic, Caro Sanchez is currently working to create more unique pieces designed and handcrafted by herself in her small home based studio.
Caro Sanchez Jeweller’s vision is to create true craftsmanship with a real commitment to the environment using ethical techniques, recycled metals and fair trade handpicked stones. Her vision is to create true craftsmanship trough originality, dedication and respect to all living things.
