Alicia Syne is an Ontario-based multidisciplinary artist working primarily in painting and photography. Her work explores nature, identity, and human connection through atmospheric imagery and experimentation across mediums. Inspired by the relationship between people and the natural world, Alicia’s practice often reflects on the idea that humans are deeply interconnected with each other and the universe around them.

In this series, Alicia is presenting work from Stardust, a photographic self-portrait series inspired by the concept that our bodies are made from the same matter as the universe itself. Using high-contrast photography and glitter, the work recreates the feeling of figures emerging like stars from the darkness. The series reflects on energy, impermanence, and the shared connection between people, nature, and the universe around them.

A graduate of Durham College’s Fine Arts program, Alicia has exhibited at the Whitby Station Gallery and the Robert McLaughlin Gallery.
