Noa Bronstein, Curator, Writer, Executive Director, Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography
Noa Bronstein is a researcher and curator based in Toronto. Her curatorial projects include THE ANNUAL (2012) and Come Up to My Room (2012, 2013) at the Gladstone Hotel, where she was the Director of Exhibitions and Cultural Promotions, and Out of Sorts: Print Culture & Book Design (2011) at the Design Exchange, where she was the Director of Public Programs and the Acting Curator. She is also the co-curator (with Katherine Dennis) of Memories of the Future, an ongoing project that invites contemporary artists to intervene inhistoric house museums. Noa has contributed to such publications as C Magazine, The Journal of the Inclusive Museum, and Afterimage: The Journal of Media Arts and Cultural Criticism.
Jess Riva Cooper, Artist, Instructor, Sheridan College, Craft and Design Program
Jess Riva Cooper is an artist and educator based in Toronto, integrating colour, drawing, and clay to create sculptures and installation-based artworks. She received her MFA in Ceramic Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. Cooper exhibits her work throughout Europe and North America and has participated in numerous artist residencies such as Brandeis University, Lillstreet Arts Center, Medalta, The Archie Bray Foundation, and The Kohler Arts/Industry Program. Cooper currently teaches at Sheridan College in the Bachelor of Craft and Design Program in Oakville.
Taiga Lipson, Curator and Gallery Administrator, Olga Korper Gallery
Taiga Lipson has been part of the Olga Korper Gallery for the last seven years as resident cheese-addict, wiener dog enthusiast, and general nuisance. With a degree in art history and curatorial studies from Carlton University, she writes the gallery publications, curates the exhibitions, and organizes the gallery’s presence at art fairs in Toronto, Montreal, and Miami, dedicating her career to the promotion of contemporary Canadian art. She was recently interviewed for The Lucky Few on her work in the art world, spoke on a panel for after-hours art project CHANNEL's ‘creative people raised by creative people', and co-curated the off-site exhibition Live Longer, Piss Off Your Heirs with Olga Korper. Taiga is thrilled to be a part of the Toronto Outdoor Arts Exhibition.
Robert Mitchell MDes. Assistant Professor, Material Design, OCAD University
Robert has created wearable art and design installations for more than two decades. He is a professor at OCAD University teaching Jewellery in the Material Art & Design Department, has a Master of Strategic Foresight and Innovation and was the recipient of the 2008 Price Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has won numerous awards and grants from arts and fine craft organizations, his work is included in private and gallery collections, and he has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally. Robert has coordinated and juried numerous exhibitions, most recently as curator for Come Eat With Us, an exhibition of craft held in conjunction with Craft Ontario’s, “Crafting Sustainability Conference” in 2015 and “Opine”, a national student exhibition held in conjunction with the 2013 Society of North American Goldsmiths conference, “Meta Mosaic”. His Coast-to-Coast Bracelet was chosen to represent Canada in the Unity and Diversity Exhibition at the 2009 Cheongju International Craft Biennale in South Korea. Robert’s diverse interests also include biomimicry, applying its principles to global water issues, involving conservation and reclamation, as developed in his recent design for a patented passive irrigation system.
