RAKU PEAR by Jacquie Blondin

The pear is a symbol of abundance, longevity, and fruitfulness. Created as a sculptural work, this Raku-fired pear celebrates the joy of creating, using humble pinch pot techniques. Achieving a successful crackle glaze is not always guaranteed in this low fire method, but I was driven to achieve it and love how the carbon trapping accentuates the form creating a lovely decorative object. This work is not suitable for food or liquid.
