Susan Lapp

Guelph
Nathan Phillips Square
Booth 120
Born and raised in Montreal Susan grew up surrounded by the arts. As a female artist her art is foremost about emotion. She must create marks and form balance, infuse motion with emotion until all become a painted story. Susan has been painting since 1998. Her art is found in corporate collections and private homes throughout the world.

In 2018 I kept thinking "I need to put some happy into the world". One day I cut up a painting. I played with many pieces and a girl began to take shape. She made my happy!
I have focused solely on creating HAPPY GIRLS during the pandemic. I have to admit they kept me smiling during this difficult time we were/are living in. Using acrylic on mylar I paint a natural scene with much movement and colour. Then I cut it into random shapes. Pieces from many paintings are building blocks to create a girl or boy and the scene. These expressive works shine with innocence, joy, curiosity, elegance, happiness to name a few. Most of all, they shine with love.
