Born and raised in Montreal, Susan is a classically trained flautist. She began painting in 1998. As a female artist Susan must create marks, find balance from abstract, infuse motion with emotion until all become a painted story. Her artworks can be found in corporate collections and private homes throughout the world.Booth 120
In 2019 both in and out of my studio I kept thinking "I need to put some happy into the world!" One day I cut up three new paintings and began to play with pieces. To my surprise a girl began to emerge. She made my happy! I have focused solely on creating HAPPY GIRLS since 2020. I admit, they kept me smiling during the pandemic.
Using acrylic on mylar I paint a natural scene with much movement and colour. Next, I cut it into random shapes of all sizes. Pieces from many paintings are building blocks to create a girl - or boy. These expressive artworks emote innocence, joy, curiosity, elegance, happiness to name a few emotions. Most of all, they emote much love.
