Hi everyone! Here’s something about me!

I’m Rui, an illustrator born in China, currently based in Oakville, Canada with my cat, Tachi.

Illustration has been with me for many years, it was a method for me to communicate with this world. Most of my works are connected to my personal experience or reflections of what I observed in my life.

My main mediums for illustration are watercolor, color pencil, digital tools, and screen-printing. I love to apply different textures on top of each other, especially with analog art. The overlapping textures bring thickness and richness to the illustration, which is also a unique style of my work.
