Serge, salmon tribute to Serge Gainsbourg

Roisin Cadieux

Serge is a lithe salmon, slippery like Serge Gainsbourg. Salmon is about going back upstream to a place in memory where belonging and well being are present. I had much fun using 1840 pipe music in his mouth, it looks like teeth, which I think is hilarious and the black shadowy paper on his spine is from a piano teaching book from the thirties (1930’s) and his tail and body are creating an optical illusion making him look like he is coming out of water.
