Nicole Crozier

Toronto
Nathan Phillips Square
Booth 227
Influenced by, or in direct reference to fashion imagery, my work surrealistically explores the animate potential of accessories and decoration in relation to the female body. Ornament takes on an insidious purpose in my work, often masking the figure, destabilizing her status as the main subject within the realm of portraiture. I aim to cultivate an aesthetic that is simultaneously seductive and unsettling in my practice as a means of investigating the overlap between desire, fantasy, identity, and self-image.

A graduate of the University of Ottawa and Centennial College, I am a Toronto based visual artist and arts manager. My work has been shown throughout Southern Ontario, Ottawa, and Montréal. I'm thrilled to be returning to the first in-person TOAF since 2019!

If you have any questions, comments or would like to video view any of the works below to get a better sense of scale and surface texture, send me an email or DM me on instagram. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
