Witness is inspired by the concept of the “Inner Witness'' or witness consciousness, where one seeks to cultivate non-judgemental awareness of the self. Here the moon is used as a symbol for change, growth, and the death and rebirth required for revelation. The use of gilding and halo iconography reclaim and reference classical religious art to glorify this inner witness.
