Sharon (Tate)

My process involves using canvas or wood panel, spray paint and oil paint. I use stencils and spray paint to create ultra matte fields of colour for backgrounds and clothing. I then render my figure softly in oil paint. All elements of the composition are carried over the sides of the panel. I finish only the oil painted elements of the figure in a gloss varnish, leaving the rest matte.

This panel is wired and ready to hang, with the figure finished in UV protected gloss varnish.
