Booth 58
Michelle Rodrigues graduated with a BFA from OCAD University where she studied Printmaking and Drawing & Painting. Influenced by printmaking sensibilities, as well as Art Therapy approaches, Michelle’s collages are created through a process of construction, destruction and chance. These collage works are personal, introspective glimpses into themes such as nostalgia, belonging, love, and the societal and cultural notions of what it means to be a woman.Booth 58
These collage works are created by covering and overlapping multiple layers of collected magazine images. Each layer is carefully and meaningfully constructed, then completely covered. Previous collages are let go of, only to be rediscovered with a new perspective through excavating by scratching, and tearing through the layers.
