Yellowknife

I am a Two-Spirit M’Chigeeng Anishinabek beader and sewer, among many other creative skills, born and raised in Somba K’e, Denendeh (Yellowknife, NT). In many ways connection to the Arts provided me with hope, support and purpose as a young First Nation’s person growing up in the NWT. I am very passionate about providing inclusive arts opportunities in my home territory and the healing that can be done through the Arts. Currently, I am attending school online to finish my Bachelors in Arts - Psychology then I plan to take my Master's to become a Registered Psychologist. My dream is to have a practice that has an Arts based approach with a Traditional lens weaved into clinical counselling settings.

Through beading, I am able to connect with myself, my culture and my spirit. I use beading to help me process the challenges I face navigating colonial frameworks and systems.
