Karin Shaddick
I live and work in Toronto, having graduated from the Toronto School of Art in 2011.
I paint mostly urban scenes which have caught my eye when rambling through the city, usually Toronto but sometimes foreign places. I prefer back views, out-of-the way lanes, or busy downtown areas. It is the bright colours, the hustle and bustle of city life, or else dark brooding skies with bare branches that inspire me. Often there is a tree which is so important because it brings the natural world into the concrete city.
I use mostly acrylics and sometimes oils.
The on-line paintings will be different from the in-person show at Nathan Phillips Square. Please visit me at Booth 404 in Zone D.
