My work in woodcuts, linocuts and monoprints represents ten years of printmaking as my primary medium. I find that puzzling over what needs to be cut, the action of cutting, and the process of working with the press extremely fulfilling.

My subject matter ranges from nature and figures to utilitarian objects, emphasizing beauty overlooked or obscured. My work often centers on the natural world particularly where it meets with human disruption. I often look to the land and water surrounding our cabin in Northern Ontario. That area is a particular touchstone for me.

I studied at the Ontario College of Art and did graduate work in painting and printmaking. While currently based in Toronto, I have lived in many parts of Canada and the US, as well as Peru, the Philippines and Mexico, teaching art in schools and universities as well as pursuing my own studio work.
