Kale Vandenbroek

Nathan Phillips Square
Booth 99
Kale’s work explores the effect of social interactions on the artist’s developing psyche, focusing on his homosexuality and the adolescent ridicule that he endured. With skills and techniques learned from his education in printmaking, Kale builds imagery through compositional processes to create surreal, graphic visuals. His work has shown in Japan, China, Finland, and within Canada, with a piece in the collection at the Tama Art University in Tokyo. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art + Design, Kale is now working out of Toronto.
