Juliana Scherzer

Slack explores feelings of sluggishness and exhaustion and being overburdened, mental loads made physical through this handmade doll. This piece was created as part of a project exploring the emotional experiences of people dealing with self-isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The persistent feeling of being weighed down by the events surrounding us, the doll begins to waste away and slough off parts of itself, seeping over the bounds of it's plinth, unable to contain its emotions.
