ORANGE POPLARS, NS

John Bladek

I had never seen the leaves of poplar trees turn a bright orange in the fall but there is a stand of them not far from my house in Nova Scotia. The orange colour is even more vivid against the backdrop of a clear blue sky. This is my most elaborate painting ever, I worked on it off and on for over a year. It is framed but there is some minor separation at the corners, can be hung now but will likely need to be reframed at some point. The canvas is 24x36", regular 3/4" depth.
