Polar Bear Study

Jen Lipski

This metal painting was created using an acid patina (applied with a brush and then quickly washed away) to oxidize and darken raw steel. The highlights were carved out to enhance the work using a tiny diamond point carving tool. The carved metal highlights of this piece take on a brilliant shine in the light and change the appearance slightly with every different lighting condition. This portrait includes a custom wood frame and comes ready to hang (dimensions include frame)
