A Silver Lining for Lodgepole Pine
Janna Kumi
Lodgepole pine (Lp) has been devasted by fire, logging, and bark beetle attacks. Because of its wide distribution, it has a broad genetic amplitude - a silver lining - that holds research possibilities to better match trees to where they can grow best. This painting shows an 8" diameter sapling and a branch wound from an older tree growing in the BC Interior. Work is in a white floater frame ready to hang and ships free Canada-wide.
