Into the Heart of an Old Douglas-fir

Janna Kumi

This old Douglas-fir veteran has stood on the bluffs of UBC for hundreds of years, weathering the gales blowing in across the Salish Sea. Close to the ground on the lee side, there is a large gap in the bark striking deep into the heart of the tree. Work is on paper, with a custom-cut mat and surrounded by a simple black wood frame. Ready to hang and ships free Canada-wide.
