Janice is a Canadian artist and published poet. After studying fashion and textiles, and a career in fashion design, she earned her BFA and MFA.TOAF.ca
Career highlights include awards from RBC Canadian Painting Competition, OCAD University and OAC Emerging Artist Grants. The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition London, shortlisted her ironing board.
Exhibition highlights include: The Affordable Art Fair NYC, three-years at Aqua during Art Basel Miami and shows in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Boston. Pieces are held in various private and public collections. The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston purchased a large painting for their Trauma Center.
Her style is abstractions from geometric shapes found in historic quilts, and hard edged acrylic paint on 1920s wood ironing boards and wood panel. Her recent work has grown to combine textiles and embroidery with paint on wood.
Blue Spiral 1, Asheville, North Carolina, will show seven ironing boards for Cut and Paste in September.
