Born and raised in South Korea, I received my BFA from the School of Fine Arts, Hong-ik University, in Seoul. The main theme of my work, which is illustrative and playful, is the healing power of a mother’s love and sacrifice, and the healing power of art. My ceramic work, which is sculptural and painterly, echoes these motifs and themes which began with my series of paintings: 'I received a flower today,' and 'Mother Tree.'Booth 248
My ceramic work is all hand-pinched and wheel-thrown in my home studio, and the surface images, are individually hand-painted and drawn on the bisque surface, then glazed and second-fired.
