I’ve been a full-time artist for a dozen years now, but it’s built upon decades as a Writer/Director, and even longer as a jazz saxophonist. Story/Composition/Colour/Rhythm/Improvization/Arrangement … it’s all here in my collages.

I went to art school in my 50’s (after my first show in 2005) There I started to make ‘collages’, a modern technique pioneered by artists like Picasso around 1910: combining diverse elements and materials to create a ‘new whole’.

I use pieces of paper I've painted, printed or drawn on and scraps from magazines and books. I glue down one piece, and keep on going, never knowing what it will look like until I'm ‘finished’. That’s what keeps it fresh and interesting, much like playing jazz.

I’M HONOURED TO HAVE WON THE ‘BEST IN PAPER’ AWARD AT LAST SUMMER’S TOAF 60, A WONDERFUL SPARK TO MY ARTISTIC JOURNEY!
