Eddie Li

Eddie Li is a 21-year old artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder from Toronto. He has studied art under his teacher/mentor Julie McMeekin Director of ArteMbassy Gallery School since he was in middle school.As he finds language challenging,abstract expressionist art is his way of communicating his ideas and emotions.He has had many individual art shows which have sold out.He uses collage, acrylic paints and pastels to express himself. His work is inspired by his passions in animals,nature and the world as he sees it.The beauty of his work emerges from his spontaneous response to colour, texture and the painted surface,pure and unaltered by preconceived ideas.He works intuitively and responds in the moment. In TOAF61, his focus is on acrylic pours which let him indulge in his love of vibrant colours.The paints are poured on canvas,flowing and blending through different techniques.The joyful flow of colours tell their own story to each person who views them.
