9 Humanity in Motion

Five figures are painted to create the illusion of a crowd engaged in an explosion of energetic activities: moving, reaching, jostling, vibrating. To induce the sense of dynamism, speed, and crowding, I abstracted the figures, and show them in vigorous diagonals and horizontals. The negative spaces are also charged with tension. I painted these figures to show that humans possess enormous potentials to achieve goals: both benevolent and malicious.
