My paintings encourage the viewer to “see with the mind”. Akin to a viewer seeing an image through venetian blinds, the mind fills in the blanks so as to be able to perceive the entire picture. In the process, the viewer participates in the making of the image, which in turn entices the image to come alive in the mind and become more vivid. More importantly, I can now “weave” two different images together on the same canvas, to tell the joined story in a new light, or with added intensity. Booth 45
My paintings are executed with much planning and care. Eg, when I weave two images onto one canvas, they need to be compatible yet differentiated in style, chroma, theme, execution and composition.
