I am an emerging artist living in Ottawa. My art education includes a brief study at NSCAD and the University of Ottawa but mostly am self taught.Booth 223
Why do we reach for the remote or a good book after a long day? Many people find themselves drawn to a story in all of its forms to help them make sense of the world. A story is an entertainer, an educator, and maybe a mirror.
Observing “the other” can provide a time for reflection. I use my pallet with its infinite voice to weave a moment in time. There is beauty in observing the sitter’s internal dialogue. A new understanding of the world could be extracted from the delicate examination of a thing. This is what I hope to impart to the observer of my paintings.
I want a feeling of energy in my work and may vary my marks accordingly. At times, I want you to see my underpainting marks or other times see a storm of brush strokes.
