Valerie Choo

Richmond Hill
Valerie Choo is a Canadian Chinese Landscape Painter and Emerging Artist who takes inspiration from her study of Canadian landscapes. Recently graduating with a BFA from York University, Valerie's interest in exploring the landscape through painting was developed while creating projects, sketches and independent studies.

Greatly influenced by her religious upbringing and view of humans as tiny in comparison to nature, her work primarily depicts realist-sometimes slightly impressionist landscapes inspired by the places she visits, her awe of creation and God as the Master Creator.

In aspiring to reflect on the mastery of God’s craftsmanship, Valerie hopes to evoke feelings of peace, hope, and admiration of nature through her work. Through each painting, she hopes that you can feel a sense of peace and awe as she did while experiencing the scenery.
