WOOD FIRED STONEWARE FLOWER BRICK by Teresa Dunlop

Toronto Potters

On the Canadian Shield, many early buildings had stone foundations. The hollow stone feet of this pierced rectangular vase reference that architecture. Rectangular piercings on the side reference small windows found in early homes. These pieces add interest to floral arrangements. The action of fly ash and flames in the wood firing have created variations across the surface. Hand washing is recommended. www.teresadunlop.ca
