Suzanne Aulds

Hilton Head Island
Suzanne Aulds is a Canadian artist living in South Carolina, who has created a unique art form by combining her oil paintings with fiber art in the form of quilts. She is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she majored in painting, and graduated summa cum laude. Suzanne works most days from her 2 studios devoted to painting and sewing, respectively. She has a love of nature and beauty that she translates into work that is simultaneously joyful and serene. Her quilts came about as a result of her battle with Covid, that left her unable to paint for several weeks. She used this time experimenting with images from her inventory of paintings and fabric. The quilts were born by happy accident. Suzanne has a wealth of ideas waiting to be translated into art quilts. She is fortunate to be able to work in a capacity that allows her to combine her two great loves of painting and sewing.
