Sophie Edell

Sophie Edell is a visual artist newly residing in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, after a move from Montreal one year ago. This move led Edell to pay extra attention to her surroundings during a time of encouraged isolation, noticing the subtleties in the changing of the seasons, and the unique way we as individuals disrupt our environment.
Edell’s current body of work investigates the way our daily interactions tell a story, and how our habits and tendencies create a fingerprint of our presence. Spanning from how the interior of our homes change on a day to day basis to how we approach and perceive the landscapes around us, Edell’s work serves as a candid visual diary that offers a feeling of commonality through depictions of idiosyncratic vignettes.
