Mirna Chacín is a Venezuelan-born Canadian artist and photographer, specializing in multidisciplinary art with a focus on infrared black-and-white photography. Since the 1990s, her work has delved into themes of loss, grief, belonging, uprooting, and cultural heritage, often engaging communities through diverse, inclusive, and cultural preservation projects.

Notable projects include "Elegy for Souls on Hold," an interactive memorial commissioned by The City of Toronto for ArtworxTO, and photo series like "Where the Sun Rises," curated by STEPS Public Art and showcased in Toronto's Sugar Beach area.

Mirna's dedication extends to documenting historic industrial buildings and architecture, blending visual artistry with historical research to advocate for preserving industrial heritage. Recognized with a Gold Medal from the University of Zulia in Venezuela and honored with the Community Impact Award in Toronto, Mirna significantly contributes to the arts and cultural landscape.
