As an artist I am inspired by nature, both landscapes and garden themes. I strive to celebrate its vivid colours, effects of light and rhythmic patterns. I worked in pastels previously and switched to acrylics for the freedom to create on a larger scale. Acrylic paint also allows me to work quickly while maintaining a certain fresh abstract looseness in order to avoid overstating details. I start with a black underpainting that helps to achieve a broad value range which strengthens my images.
