Lisa Hemeon

Online Only
Lisa Hemeon is a Toronto-based artist known for her abstracted waterscapes featuring expressive movement, texture and energy. A theme of ‘undulation’ runs through each painting, representing contours & qualities of shifting surfaces.

Water is a transformative & mesmerizing source from which Hemeon continually draws upon. Through intuition and reflection, she captures her feelings of environments carried within. Hemeon states, “The enigmatic aspects and abstractions of flowing surfaces and atmospherics draw me in. Water gushes and converges; it crashes and contours; it reflects, refracts & disperses, continually forming & shaping itself to integrate with embracing elements.

The painting process includes layered applications of emulsion, glazes, media, paint, colour & texture to express both dimension and emotion. Hemeon has exhibited her work in Toronto since 2002. Her works have been published in British VOGUE & World of Interiors gallery pages and the UK publication of London Lux
