Jaspal Birdi

This photo print is a selfie I took the first day I was able to work outside of home in 2020. Currently on display at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, the image to the left of it was taken on Christmas Day 2019—Before Covid. I had given my friend a mask for Christmas in regards to a running inside joke. For me these two images represent how something once playful can in a way cease to exist if we allow it to.

This work ships framed at the end of the exhibition run in Autumn 2021.
