Janice Kovar

Janice Kovar is a contemporary mixed media artist who lives and works in Dundas, Ontario. Her work reflects her interests in nature and the environment through the juxtaposition of mediums such as acrylic, wood, casted plaster, folded canvas, and reclaimed materials. Her small assemblages and larger paintings ask the viewer to consider themes on manufacturing, consumption, and our connection to the landscape.
Janice received her fine arts training at McMaster University, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, and continues to both create and teach visual art in Hamilton. She has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions and continues to develop her work at the Cotton Factory studios in Hamilton. She will be participating in several upcoming exhibitions including the Carnegie Gallery in Dundas, and the McMaster Museum of Art. She is thrilled to be a part of TOAF60 this year, and looks forward to sharing her work with everyone.
