Janice Kovar
Dundas, Ontario visual artist, Janice Kovar has been honing her skills in mixed media formats for the past several years. Originally studying sculpture at McMaster University, she has combined her love of three dimensional form along with the materiality of the painting process, allowing her to find a happy medium between the two.
Janice's work is about the transformation of materials and her sculptural assemblages and mixed media works bring together her unique blend of abstraction, distortion, and fragmentation. Her work celebrates the beauty in nature while manipulating it in order to propose unexpected conversations within each art work, inviting viewers to explore their connection to it.
