She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers (CANSCAIP) and the Canadian Children's Book Center (CCBC). She divides her time between creating new series of paintings, illustrations and fibre art.

These unique paintings in black and white have themes that are both personal and universal. In this canvas, the framed painting in the background represents Adam and Eve. A version of this story has been told in many cultures and is an idea of family and relationship that has changed over centuries. The couple in the foreground represents this change.
