James Stacey

Thornbury
Originally a Fine Art student at the University of Toronto, after a career in business, Jim studied photography at Ryerson before a second career as a commercial photographer and photography instructor. Jim relocated to the Georgian Triangle in 1998 and began to focus on photography as a medium for creative expression and social comment. Recent exhibitions include Underground, the work of hard-rock mining, and Mile One, the role hay plays in feeding us. Jim’s current project follows the lives of cows and calves through the seasons, building a relationship as he comes to see them as individuals with unique personalities.
