Dona Gillon

Dona Gillon paints on the borderline between abstraction and figuration.

While soliciting the word of a childish universe as a prism for deeper subjects. She explores more the large format which allows her to express the space-time relationship within her work.

The large surface allows Dona Gillon a more performative approach: she interacts with the canvas on the floor, integrating a real notion of movement. For each canvas, it is a creative process whose temporality varies.

This temporality also translates into an illustration of accumulation for the artist who, according to her intuitions, allows phases to emerge in her painting that she calls "passages". This is another poetic way for the artist to materialise this passing time.
