Ellen Cameron

As I headed out into the forest for a ride that morning I saw the clouds gathering in the west. The snow started gently falling and slowly turned to icy pellets. As I turned and headed home, my horse stopped at the top of a hill and gazed at a deer below as it ran out of a thicket. That is when I captured this image, from the saddle. I was struck by how the icy bits clung to his face, eyelashes and mane. This is the horse I ride most often and he is brave, calm and a great companion.
