David Brandy

Toronto
David Brandy is an award-winning fine art photographer based in Toronto. His ongoing series, "Newer Topographics", emphasizes the strong sense of isolation humankind feels due to the juxtaposition of natural landscapes with solitary manmade constructs.

A subset of his topographic images that pertain to the rapidly changing landscape in rural Ontario are featured here for TOAF60. Everyday Ontario loses 175 acres of farmland to non-agricultural land uses. This rate of loss is unsustainable. That’s why $100 from every one of Brandy's prints sold will be donated to the Ontario Farmland Trust registered charity. Let’s support this important organization, because farmers feed cities!

Brandy is shortlisted for Aesthetica Magazine's 2021 Aesthetica Art Prize in York, UK. He won an Emerging Artists by Emerging Curator Award at the 2019 Toronto Outdoor Art Fair and was shortlisted for both the 2018 Quest Art and the 2017 Salt Spring National Art Prizes.
